Côtes-d'Armor lies on the North coast of Brittany. It has a rugged coastline with steep cliffs and is dotted with quaint, medieval towns.
The ancient ramparts and cobbled streets in the river port of Dinan are well worth a visit, and fans of Breton music head for St Brieuc in September for the music festival.
Dinan sits on the river Rance with the houses of the old town clustered together behind the ramparts.
St Brieuc stages the popular Breton rock festival in summer with a host of internationally renowned artists. Sample the fresh shellfish - the Côtes d’Armor is the largest European producer of scallops.
